WORKSHOP: VISIBLE MENDING – NACHHALTIG REPARIEREN

Visible mending, the visible repair of tears, holes or stains in textiles, is an alternative to buying new. Through creative precision work, damage to treasured pieces is not only repaired, but also individualized in a resource-saving way. And as eye-catching as possible! Colorful yarn or flashy patches are particularly suitable for this.

This four-hour workshop offers an introduction to the techniques of visible mending. Together we will experiment with how different stitches can be used as design elements. Participants will be provided with samples and the necessary materials. Hand sewing skills are an advantage, but not necessary.

Clara Zimmermann and Friederike Polzin are textile designers and trained dressmakers. The use of existing materials and the joy of reviving used things unite the two in their way of working.
