Janis, works as a night guard in the sleep lab. She puts strangers to bed and watches them sleep. The day-night rhythm that gives others a natural structure does not apply to her. This is where she meets Sina, a teacher with a regular routine. In Tamar Noort's novel, the two main characters struggle to give their lives a rhythm of their own. Hamburg author Isabel Bogdan's latest novel is about a shared flat in which four people of different ages live together for a variety of reasons. All four have their own dreams and aspirations and at some point have to face the question of whether they are a purely functional flat share or a family of choice for each other.
