A large hall in an old academy. It is late evening. No one is there. At least that's what Titian thinks as he sits desperately in a corner. He only dozed off for a very brief moment. Then everyone was gone and he was locked in. No one to hear him. Except ... Lea. She suddenly stands in the room. She has deliberately allowed herself to be locked in. Not for the first time.

The two of them have no choice but to spend the night together in the hall. The way in which they get on each other's nerves, slowly get on each other's nerves and become more and more intimate is a profound piece of cabaret that leaves hardly a question untouched. Identity, happiness, love, sex, desires, dreams and disillusionment - everything becomes a topic over the course of the long night. Until the morning dawns and the redemptive moment draws ever closer.

In her debut play Z, Georgian author Nino Haratischwili portrays two young people in an extreme situation. The supposed prison turns out to be more and more a place of freedom for both of them: freedom to think, freedom to play, freedom to act. In short, concise scenes, the author, with a keen sense of situation and language, allows two people to move towards each other and heightens awareness of the small moments of happiness that make life worth living.
