We invite everyone who would like to draw or learn to draw together to our drawing circle. Led by artists from Leipzig and the surrounding area, the circle enables an open exchange about the medium of drawing. Various techniques will be tried out: Sometimes closer to the traditional concept of drawing, sometimes further away from it.

Drawing methods are simple ways to record and systematize our ideas, experiences, narratives and perspectives. But how exactly do we translate our perception into a drawing system? How do I capture a movement, a sound or a smell? In May and June, the artist Katharina Zimmerhackl invites you to our drawing circle to explore the possibilities of recording systems in your thoughts and drawings. Starting with composition exercises and working with serial formats, participants will be encouraged to playfully explore the relationship between drawing and sound, body, language, rhythm and movement.

Katharina Zimmerhackl (*1983) studied media art, printmaking and graphic design in Leipzig and Helsinki. Her artistic work moves between sound art, installation, performance and drawing.
