How was the universe created? Where do the stars and planets come from? What happened on earth? On a journey through time from the beginning of the universe to the present day, you will witness the birth of the first stars and the formation of the Milky Way. You will experience huge stellar explosions, catastrophic comet impacts on the primordial Earth and the development of life. In order to better understand the unimaginably long periods of time involved, let's think of cosmic history in terms of the length of a year. The universe would therefore have been created on January 1st and one day would correspond to 40 million years in reality. The extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million "real" years ago would fall on December 30 of the cosmic year and our present time, in which we explore the universe with telescopes, on December 31 shortly before midnight. Come with us on a journey through around 14 billion years of world history! A production of ten German planetariums, including Planetarium Mannheim, under the auspices of Planetarium Münster.
Duration approx. 50 minutes, also suitable for children aged 10 and over
