The lecture traces the history of international cooperation from its beginnings to today’s networked polar research. We will also follow in the footsteps of the first German South Polar Expedition (1901–1903), led by Erich von Drygalski. Speaker: Dr. Mirko Scheinert (TU Dresden) has participated in several Antarctic expeditions.
