Marty McFly is pretty unlucky: he is constantly bullied by Biff Tannen's rough squad. But he has found a very special friend in the eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett L. Doc Brown. He actually claims to have converted a DeLorean into a time machine, which Marty uses to travel back to the 1950s. There he inadvertently prevents a crucial event for the wedding of his parents Lorraine and George. To make matters worse, his mother from the past falls in love with him, and the awkward George seems to come away empty-handed. As a result, Marty McFly's own existence is suddenly at stake. Together with the Doc Brown of the 1950s, he must now do everything in his power to put the past right. Since a thunderstorm plays a decisive role in this, timing is everything...
