Finnish musician and composer Jimi Tenor presents the album "Selenites, Selenites!" with his band. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the formation can be experienced live at Studio Nord Bremen. An intense, immediate concert experience between Afrobeat, jazz and electronica.

Known for its cross-genre mix of electronica, Afrobeat, spiritual jazz and experimental pop, Tenor has stood for independent soundscapes and immediate live experiences for decades. "Cool and organic" is how Deutschlandfunk aptly describes his music (Deutschlandfunk Kultur - Tonart).

Jimi Tenor made a name for himself back in the 1990s with his idiosyncratic blend of lounge jazz and acid techno. Over the course of his career, he has increasingly opened himself up to African influences and developed a signature style in which genre boundaries are consistently dissolved. As rbb Soundcheck writes, Tenor's "Afrobeat meets lounge and a touch of free jazz, disco meets easy listening and electro-gospel" - his appearance, which already had something of a "one-man subculture" about it and which has not changed to this day.

In 2025, Jimi Tenor celebrated his 60th birthday and how could it be more fitting for him than on stage? In March of the same year, he came to Hamburg with his band not only to celebrate his anniversary, but also to record new music. The result is "Selenites, Selenites!", the first album by the Jimi Tenor Band, a powerful debut full of joyful playing and sonic curiosity - raw, direct and intense, as if you were standing in front of the stage.

With the concert at Studio Nord Bremen, Jimi Tenor & Band now bring this energy live into the hall and the audience is right in the middle of it.
