DOK.fest Munich opens our eyes to the world: with 130 of the best and most current international documentaries from 55 countries. With top-class competitions, numerous specials and intensive film discussions, the program gathers the highlights of current documentary filmmaking. We look to Turkey with our guest country series, dedicate our tribute to the work of renowned Austrian director Nikolaus Geyrhalter and present a retrospective of African cinema.
This year's DOK.focus series POWER FO MEDIA? asks about the role and (powerlessness) of our media, while the Student Award, as every year, presents outstanding documentaries by students from German-speaking film schools.
Our goal is the greatest possible participation in our films, which is why we bring them to the big screen in Munich cinemas as well as to home screens across Germany: DOK.fest goes dual!
