The Allee Theater is home to two worlds on one stage: the Theater für Kinder and the Hamburg Chamber Opera.

The Theater für Kinder was founded in 1968 as the first private children's theater in Germany. It introduces young and very young people to the medium of musical theater. It presents adaptations of well-known drama and opera classics for visitors aged 5 and over, as well as musical theater for everyone aged 3 and over. It is particularly important for Hamburg and the neighboring federal states, not least because of the large number of school performances, which are accompanied by preparatory teaching material. Over the decades, numerous world premieres and German premieres have taken place at the Theater für Kinder.

In 1996, the Hamburg Chamber Opera was also founded, which focuses on music theater from the 18th and 19th centuries. The repertoire often includes rarely performed works by well-known composers, supplemented by classics of opera literature. The concept of the Hamburg Chamber Opera is to make operas more tangible, more understandable and thus more intensely tangible. To this end, all pieces are musically arranged and presented with an instrumental ensemble of up to seven musicians. The baroque theater was the model for the design of the Hamburg Chamber Opera. The theater owes its special ambience above all to the red and gold auditorium with its 200 different baroque chairs.
