The Caricatura - Gallery for Comic Art shows works from the fields of cartoons, caricature and comic painting in several major exhibitions each year. It also offers a platform for readings and satirical stage programs. The range of exhibitions is complemented by a store and an adjoining bar.

With its successful exhibition and event work, it has made Kassel an important center for comedy and satire in Germany. In 1987, the year it was founded, it was awarded the "Kulturförderpreis der Stadt Kassel". This was followed in 2019 by the "Kassel Culture Prize" for the "Summer Academy for Comic Art" project. In 2020, the Caricatura Galerie Kassel was awarded the "Hessian Culture Prize" together with the Caricatura Museum Frankfurt.
