Desi Nürnberg

The district center Desi e. V. is made up of various areas, including program, refugee and youth cultural work, and provides numerous groups with a place to meet and exchange ideas. The association is run by four full-time employees, who are supported by many volunteers.

Since its foundation in 1978, the Desi has been run as a self-managed center and this is the core of its work. The aim is to give all groups, staff and visitors a maximum degree of independence. Delegates from the various groups, the office team, the pub, the program group, volunteers and guests come together once a month at the general assembly. All relevant topics are discussed together: from fundamental questions of content, personnel matters and finances to group reports, room requests and organizational decisions.
