Painted in the club colors of its namesake Düsseldorf soccer club, Fortuna 1895, the drinking establishment is located on the way between the old town and the stadium, so it's an ideal place for fans to get together for a pre-game glow, to celebrate victories together, and to mourn defeats. But that is not the whole secret. The long Rhine wall immediately adjacent to the red-and-white-washed bar offers perhaps the best box seat for watching the sun go down. And so it is that a very mixed crowd of soccer fans and city romantics meet here, preferring the pleasant atmosphere at the sun-warmed little wall to many a fancy terrace. Recommended for imitation.
