FRANZ MEHLHOSE is a café and a place for alternative culture in Erfurt, Thuringia.

We are open to interested, cosmopolitan people of all ages; free from dress codes, pomposity and discrimination.

Our stage is a platform for authentic artists with charisma and character. The aim is always to dissolve boundaries, merge genres and broaden horizons.

We value high quality and keep things as uncomplicated as possible: reasonable prices, a small menu and good products, especially from the region. We strive to employ attentive, friendly and open-minded staff at all levels. Closeness to our guests is a matter of course for us. We now know almost everyone by their first name.

FRANZ MEHLHOSE has been run as a family business by father and son since 2010.

In 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2022, we were awarded the APPLAUS prize for our program by the Initiative Musik and the Federal Minister of Culture.
