GEDOK Brandenburg is the Brandenburg regional association of GEDOK, the oldest and largest association for women artists in Europe. It works across all disciplines and unites artists from the various sections: Fine Arts, Applied Arts/Art Design, Literature, Music, Interdisciplinary Arts/Performing Arts; art patrons contribute to the realization of its goals. The GEDOK was founded in Hamburg in 1926 as the "Gemeinschaft Deutscher und Oesterreichischer Künstlerinnenvereine aller Kunstgattungen" by the patron Ida Dehmel (1870-1942). Her aim was to promote the artistic talents of women.

The aim of the commitment of GEDOK Brandenburg is to make female artists in the various fields of work known to the public and to support them in the realization of their professional interests. Artistic activity is promoted through exhibitions, readings, concerts, performances, interdisciplinary art projects, professional support, participation in various committees and networks and effective public relations work.
