For parents and their children in the district

The family houses are district-based facilities run by the Bremen Office for Social Services. The services are aimed at parents and their children in the district and are open to all nationalities and different ways of living together. The focus is on the parents and how they cope with their educational task.

The central themes of our work are

• Family life and parental roles
• Marriage and partnership
• Parenting and child development
• Everyday life with children

These focal points are taken into account in all the services offered by the family houses. There are courses, discussion groups, parent-child groups, language and integration courses, fathers' groups, summer camps, playgroups and much more. Advice is given and children are looked after. Ideas for self-help are encouraged and supported.
