Lustenberger & Schäfer oHG was founded in 1990.
It resulted from the merger of the two individual companies of Stephan Lustenberger (mail-order antiquarian bookseller since 1983) and Christoph Schäfer (mail-order antiquarian bookseller since 1986).
On February 17, 1991, the 135th anniversary of Heine's death, we opened our
Heinrich Heine Antiquariat in Citadellstraße , one of the most beautiful old streets in Düsseldorf's Carlstadt.
The store we converted from the Thoelen bakery (number 9) is located next to the Polish Institute, between the Film, Ceramics and City Museums, not far from the "ZICKE" bistro.
We are a member of the Verband Deutscher Antiquare e.V. (and therefore also of the ILAB).
We also volunteer for the GIAQ, the cooperative of internet antiquarians, with its platform antiquariat.de and its international sister marelibri.
