The exhibition covers more than 8500 m² and includes ancient and pre-Columbian ceramics, rare stoneware vessels, valuable porcelain and Islamic ceramics. The redesigned Asian section from 2018 is particularly worth a visit. The Hetjens Museum, named after its founder Laurenz Heinrich Hetjens, is the most universal ceramics museum of its kind and has been open to the public since 1909.
