Built around the same time as the Berlin Wall between 1960 and 1964, it was designed to provide heat for the people of Berlin's Mitte. After the building stood empty for a long time, Dimitri Hegemann discovered it and developed part of the area for his techno club Tresor, which moved there back in 2006.
