The Freie Volksbühne Berlin association acts as a guide and mediator of culture in Berlin's rich cultural landscape. In its Siegfried Nestriepke House, the library of Freie Volksbühne Berlin houses an open reference library containing a wide selection of important works of European theater literature from Goethe to Brecht as well as a wealth of fascinating historical documents. The focus is particularly on the history of the Volksbühne movement in Germany as well as publications produced by the association itself. The Henry Oehler collection on musical theater includes director's books from the 1920s, numerous piano scores, and extensive opera manuscripts.
