Located in the heart of Berlin, the Gropius Bau is a lively place for encounters with art and each other. As an internationally renowned exhibition venue, it offers space for major exhibitions and performances by contemporary artists. Exchange, discussion and the bringing together of local and global perspectives are the focus of various events.

Artists actively shape the program here from the inside: They not only show their own work, but also develop themed and solo exhibitions of other artists or sometimes work for several years in one of the studios in the Gropius Bau. In this way, they are closely connected to the building and shape it with their ideas and visions.

In all of this, the game serves as a suggestion as to how we can deal with each other in times of increasing social tensions: open instead of judgmental, together instead of against each other, changing positions and perspectives. This idea is also at the heart of the freely accessible BAUBAU play area, which was developed by artist Kerstin Brätsch. It invites children to spread out, be loud, let off steam and help shape the space again and again - because here, more is allowed than forbidden.
