Our collection in the Scharnhorst barracks, Niedersachsendamm 67-69, shows Bremen's military history from its beginnings, the first citizens' companies, the 1st Hanseatic Infantry Regiment No. 75, the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71, the First and Second World Wars, the collapse and finally the rebuilding of the Bundeswehr up to the present day. Valuable originals, unique items and lots of historical background material are on display. Expert staff will be happy to guide you through the collection on request.

A collection of pewter figures with approx. 160 dioramas shows important episodes in the history of Europe from the beginnings to the time of the Greeks, Romans and Germanic tribes, the various art epochs through to the depiction of various war scenes from the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71, thus linking up with the military history collection.
