Nikolaikirche Oslebshausen

In the 20th century, Oslebshausen experienced rapid growth, which necessitated the construction of the Nikolaikirche. Together with the adjoining parish hall, which was accessible via an arcade, and the vicarage, the complex was built centrally on Oslebshauser Heerstraße. The church itself is an inviting building in gothic clinker expressionism, characterized by a gabled roof, a recessed choir and a striking five-storey tower with a pointed spire.

After the war, the destroyed rectory was replaced by a simple new building. In 1976, the parish hall was replaced by a modern, two-storey community center designed by Hermann Brede, which stands out due to its flat roof. According to the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, the complex shows parallels to the architecture of the "Glocke" on Domsheide and combines clinker expressionism with a touch of conservative modernity.

Behind the church, a memorial stone commemorates Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The current bell from 1929 is a remnant, as the larger bell had to be surrendered during the Second World War, of which an empty yoke is still a reminder.
