ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

OFF FOTO was founded in 2014 on the initiative of photo enthusiasts who wanted a festival that focused primarily on photographers from the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. So far, our association has organized four photo festivals. From 17 venues in the first year (2015), 56 participants took part in the last edition in 2020. As stated in our association's name, the focus is on artistic and documentary photography. The festival is characterized by the presentation of works in a mix of established art spaces and unusual locations. Well-known galleries, museums, institutions and archives take part, but spaces that visitors do not immediately associate with photography are also used.
The festival will be back in 2025 with 75 exhibitions and a colorful supporting program throughout the region!

The TEAM

The association's board and the festival team were reorganized in 2024. With Miriam Stanke, Arthur Bauer, Elisa Berdica, Friederike Schülke, Teresa Kloos, Biljana Kokanovic and Johannes Mattern, we have seven new energetic team members. Sylvia Ballhause and Markus Weckesser remain as experienced OFF'ers. We share a passion for photography and the Rhine-Neckar region as our adopted home.
