Olaf Brzeski (born 1975) tells stories with the help of film, drawing and sculpture. His works of art often have an everyday motif, such as a fly circling through the room, which he then transforms into a sculpture, or conversely come from deep within his subconscious, when he makes the encounters in his dreams the starting point for his films and sculptures.
One example is the blue vampire head with red, pointed teeth flashing out of its open mouth. In doing so, he uses and mixes many pictorial traditions between art history and the contemporary media world with great naturalness. Brzeski, who is also a draughtsman, will be designing an entire wall in the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus.
Olaf Brzeski lives and works in Wroclaw, Poland.
