Whether political parody, biting sketches or sarcastically twisted cover songs - the DISTEL cabaret theater pokes fun, dissects and tears apart with wit, irony and acumen. For over seven decades, DISTEL has dedicated itself to the everyday madness of politics and society and, as a cabaret institution in the heart of Berlin - right next to Friedrichstraße station - has always stood for first-class, classic ensemble cabaret.

Our DISTEL programs usually feature three ensemble members speaking, singing and dancing on stage - accompanied by at least two musicians. Our repertoire is as diverse as the number of our authors and directors: From "classic" number programs to plays with an almost closed plot to entire cabaret revues, everything is included.

What do all our productions have in common? They are always new, different and surprising. And, of course, they are always up-to-date, as we are constantly adding references and commentaries on current events to our programs.

Our repertoire is rounded off by numerous guest performances, concerts, readings and the popular talk series MISSVERSTEHEN SIE MICH RICHTIG.
