Kassel Town Hall, built in 1909 in the neo-baroque style, is a striking building in the city center. With its impressive sandstone façade and almost 70-metre-high tower with copper dome, it dominates the cityscape. The interior is sumptuously decorated, especially the foyer and meeting room with wood paneling and historical paintings. Today it serves as the seat of the city administration and a venue for political meetings.
