Raupe Immersatt

Raupe Immersatt is Germany's first foodsharing café, which opened on Hölderlinplatz in Stuttgart-West in June 2019. For us, foodsharing means sharing food unconditionally and free of charge. In the so-called "Fairteiler", a publicly accessible cupboard wall in the café, we offer food that has been saved from the garbage can. The bar also offers fine drinks at a price you can decide - most of them organic, fairly produced and from independent producers in the region. The concept is rounded off with regular events: From educational workshops for school classes, lectures and discussions to concerts, readings and film evenings - as a non-profit association, we aim to promote ecological and social awareness as well as art and culture. We want to raise awareness of the need to treat our resources and food in particular with respect and are convinced that we can also bring about positive change with positive impulses.

The café is run by the non-profit organization Raupe Immersatt e.V.. There are currently 14 people working in the café, four of whom are also responsible for organizational areas. We work closely with the nationwide foodsharing.de initiative as well as local businesses and initiatives to save surplus food from the garbage can every day.
