Sigmund-Freud-Park

The park was named after the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud on November 8, 1984; prior to that, it had been part of Votivpark. Vienna’s oldest underground parking garage and the Schottentor Passage have been located beneath the park since 1961. The park is bordered by Universitätsstraße, Straße des Achten Mai, and Währinger Straße.

The large sunbathing lawn, which is equipped with free lounge chairs, is mainly used by students, but also hosts events such as public viewings of soccer games.
