In the Stadtmuseum there is a collection of impressive portraits of influential rulers who have had a significant influence on Düsseldorf's history. You'll find, for example, the portrait of Duke Wilhelm the Rich painted on oak wood from the late 16th century or that of Elector Jan Wellem in a magnificent ornamental suit of armor from the early 18th century.
