When Bazzar Caffè Gastronomie opened its doors in Düsseldorf's old town in 1996, the modern coffee shop culture was still in its infancy.

At that time, coffee culture was still almost exclusively limited to German filter coffee. The small espresso was considered by many to be too strong and too strong.

Initially, the concept envisaged the implementation of the traditional Italian bar, where a good espresso or cappuccino is only drunk briefly at high tables. However, it soon became apparent that the local public liked to sit comfortably, so that the current seating with benches and chairs was gradually created, which, incidentally, is still all made in-house.
