Ulrichsplatz

Ulrichsplatz is a small, historic, triangular square in Bremen' s Mitte district, Ostertor. Since 2002, it has borne the name of the lawyer, journalist, publisher and writer Karl Heinrich Ulrichs, a campaigner for the legal equality of homosexuals.

The streets Ostertorsteinweg, the first stone road leading to the Ostertor (eastern gate) of Bremen's city fortifications, Wulwesstraße, named after the family name Wolf (documented in 1721), Landweg, an old country road, and Hohenpfad, an old causeway leading to Contrescarpe and the Ostertor, meet at Ulrichsplatz.
