The Regensburg University Library is one of the largest libraries founded in Germany in the 1960s and 1970s. Thanks to its innovative organization as a uniform system and the use of the Regensburg Union Classification, it has become a model for many other libraries, especially in Bavaria. As a central institution of the university, it is supported by the Free State of Bavaria and is accessible to all. With around 3.6 million media, it is one of the largest libraries in Bavaria.
