UTBE e.V. – Union des Togolais de Brême et de ses Environs – is a migrant organization that has been active in Bremen and Togo for over ten years. The association is involved in the areas of education, culture, social services, women’s and youth work, and development cooperation. UTBE e.V. empowers people with a migration background through training, counseling, and networking; promotes social cohesion in Bremen; and implements sustainable projects in Togo—particularly in the areas of the environment, water, renewable energy, and youth development. In doing so, the association combines self-help, volunteer work, and partnerships with German institutions.

UTBE e.V. stands for responsibility, solidarity, and mutual respect. We build on proven community values, self-organization, and people’s commitment—because sustainable development arises where people take responsibility for themselves and others.

Our Mission

We promote education, participation, and self-determination among migrants in Bremen and actively contribute to sustainable development in Togo. Our work is practical, nonprofit, and guided by people’s actual needs.

Our Focus Areas
• Education & Training: General and vocational education, continuing education, intercultural training
• Social Services & Youth Assistance: Empowering children, youth, and families; preventing social exclusion
• Women’s Empowerment: Empowerment, participation, and protection of women
• Environment & Development: Sustainable environmental projects, water quality, renewable energy in Togo
