Wild im West

Wild im West is one of the best-known and most popular initiatives in Vienna's flea market and cultural scene. The initiative describes itself as a "cultural traveling oasis" - an apt term, as it has been using vacant spaces all over the city for years, breathing new life into them.

A colorful, lively flea market takes place every Sunday, where vintage pieces, handmade items, art and all kinds of curiosities change hands. The offer goes far beyond a classic flea market: craftspeople, artists, screen printers, hairdressers, massages and much more are part of the concept - a kind of modern, sustainable alternative to the classic shopping center.

As Wild im West focuses on interim uses, the initiative has occupied several locations over the years. Most recently, it was active in Neu Marx in the 3rd district, but had to move there because the new Wien Holding Arena is to be built on the site. Since April 2026, Wild im West can be found at a new location in Heiligenstadt in the 19th district (Gunoldstraße 12/14) - on an area of around 6,000 square meters, the initiative's largest location to date. The flea market takes place there every Sunday from 12 noon to 6 pm
