WOKI - your cinema in Bonn - has been around since October 1, 1998, that's over 26 years! During this time, almost 5 million visitors have taken a seat here. Incidentally, the cinema used to be the "Universum-Kino", but WOKI is now a real institution in Bonn.

Rainer Otto, the founder and boss, is a true cinema enthusiast. Born in Bonn in 1965, he has been working in cinemas since 1981. His recipe for success? A team of mega cinema enthusiasts who put their heart and expertise into their work. And the guests can feel it: here you always get friendly and good advice.

It's no wonder that the people of Bonn have quickly made WOKI their favorite cinema. Today, it is not only the most successful cinema in the city, but also known throughout Germany. In 2018, it was even named Germany's first favorite cinema!

The concept? Great films in German premieres at fair prices, plus older films that you can catch up on at a reasonable price. With three screens, the WOKI has space for up to 25 different films every week - you won't find such a variety anywhere else in Bonn. Of course, the popular mainstream films are also shown, but around 20% of the program is specifically for the more discerning audience. The aim is to be a movie theater for everyone in Bonn - without the mass-market style of multiplex cinemas and without the sometimes somewhat detached flair of art cinemas.

The team? A colorful mix of 7 full-time and 29 part-time employees. Many of them started small here and worked their way up - all the way to management. And young talent is encouraged: For example, Janick Gootz, one of the youngest members of the team, shot both WOKI image commercials and is now studying film production in Ludwigsburg.

Incidentally, the foyer is a real eye-catcher: with huge glass fronts, you can peek in from outside. Inside you will find information and reviews of the 10-15 most exciting films in the program every week.

The WOKI is also easy to reach: It's right on Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz, the largest transportation hub in Bonn, with 22 bus and train lines right outside the door. For car drivers, there is a multi-storey parking lot just 100 meters away - and from 7 p.m. you can park in the Stiftsgarage for just 2 euros if you exchange your ticket at the counter.

From WOKI, you can also be at the Bonn market, in the pedestrian zone or at the main train station in just three minutes.
