To the left of the Weser, ten minutes from Bremen's old town, the Center for Art has been created in the Woltmershausen district, a place for interdisciplinary work. A former factory hall in the Tabakquartier, which is run by the Senator for Culture as a department, offers free space for performing and visual artists as well as for cooperatively-minded musicians. Professional production conditions and interdisciplinary exchange come together in this atmospherically fascinating location to create an inspiring space of opportunity for creative artists.

Spread over three spacious floors are two theaters including a backstage area, 20 studios, a studio for professional video and audio production as well as rooms for rehearsals, exhibitions and exchange, an office, a fundus and catering facilities to accompany events.

The Center for Art bundles the characteristics of Bremen's independent art scene and at the same time underlines its supra-regional quality standards. It offers scope for development across genre boundaries, creative search movements and a creative sense of community. With the principle that rehearsals and sketches lead to presentations.
