a.s.s. concerts & promotion gmbh, based in Hamburg, has been one of Germany's established and successful tour promoters for over 40 years. The company was founded in 1979 by Dieter Schubert. Since 1986 it has been run as a joint limited company with Michael Bisping and now has a third managing director in Dirk Gehrmann. Since its foundation, the company has steadily grown and developed in terms of staff, turnover and areas of work.

In addition to the core business as a booking agency and tour promoter for rock, pop, folk, jazz and world music artists, a.s.s. concerts also includes, for example, the gala and event department K-Musix and the department for local events. The a.s.s. family includes two now independent companies that grew out of divisions at a.s.s. concerts: Selective Artists, booking agency focusing on young German but also European singer-songwriters, electro and indie artists, and Dragon Productions with a roster of hard rock and metal bands.

Around 30 employees in Hamburg and eight more in branch offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf and South Tyrol work for the group. With this team, a.s.s. concerts organizes up to 1,200 concerts every year and also places its artists at numerous festivals. These stages do not necessarily have to be in Germany. a.s.s. concerts also books concerts in Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries. In addition, a.s.s. concerts now represents various artists throughout Europe as an agent. Since 2013, a.s.s. concerts is part of Mehr-BB Entertainment GmbH, one of the leading musical providers in Germany.
