"Come Closer" - under this motto, the CircusDanceFestival focuses on the interaction between audience and performers and celebrates being in the middle of it all. International productions of contemporary circus and dance can be experienced in Cologne for three weeks from May 16 to 31.

With a total of 50 events and 38 productions from ten countries, 2026 is the largest festival edition to date. This year, the CircusDanceFestival will once again impress with its unique spring flair on the green festival grounds on the Rhine in Cologne's Latibul.
"Come Closer" celebrates experiences that can be shared and plays with the relationship between stage and audience in numerous artistic variations. A playful festival edition for the curious that invites you to join in.
The program brings together international artists between contemporary circus and dance - in circus tents and open air on the festival grounds, with major guest performances in the Depot and young voices on the two 360° outdoor stages. The festival will be accompanied by a large-format photo exhibition, workshops, discussions, circus films and numerous DJ sets as well as a special family day - the Latibul Circus Garden.
The festival is expanding its stages in Cologne's urban space with pop-up performances: In various neighborhoods, public table tennis tables, subway stations, squares and parks will be used by circus artists and dancers, inviting you to experience circus and dance outside the festival grounds.
