Welcome to the 4th Dulcimer Festival! The current dulcimer scene presents itself in five concerts with works for dulcimer solo to chamber music in various instrumentations. In the opening concert, the Ensemble Almanach will take you into the majestic mountain world with songs by Schumann and Lachner. Swiss hammered dulcimer artist Barbara Schirmer demonstrates her spectacular four-mallet technique in "ZeitverLUST". Dulcimer instruments, from historical folk music instruments, the medieval dulce melos and the baroque salterio to modern tenor dulcimers and the double bass dulcimer, will be heard on stage. You can experience new music that explores the possibilities of the hammered dulcimer in a lively and intense way in terms of design, expressiveness and virtuosity. Nine workshops invite you to join in. There will also be an exhibition of instruments, mallets and sheet music, giving visitors the opportunity to find out about new developments as well as space and time for exchange and encounters.
