To further establish Bochumer Strasse as a nightlife district in Gelsenkirchen. That is the aim of KOMMSE ÜCKEN?!

In 2022, the Insane Urban Cowboys e.V. (IUC) initiated the quarterly night in the Ückendorf district. Jointly organized by the "Kollektiv Ücken", consisting of creative and gastronomic actors from Bochumer Straße, the participating locations always offer "more than usual".

For example, a theater performance or live music takes place in the pub, a DJ plays in front of the Greek chip shop or there is a techno rave in the empty supermarket. The district is taken as it is - not hip mainstream, but subcultural and authentic. Free admission everywhere, you can wander from location to location.

The format made its breakthrough in 2024 and 2025. In each of these two years, the IUC was able to further develop KOMMSE ÜCKEN?! with funding from the state of NRW from the "Kreativ.Quartiere Ruhr" program. In 2026, the events will once again be financed and organized more independently by the participating locations.
