The somewhat different Leverkusen carnival session has long been a cult event and guarantees an entertaining evening lasting almost four hours in the large hall of the Kulturausbesserungswerk (KAW) in the Bahnstadt district.

The LKS was invented back in 1997 by local cabaret artist Johannes Boddenberg, who died far too young, and started in the youth club under the Aloysiuskapelle in front of an audience of 40. Who would have thought back then that this session would become a real long-running hit with cult status that has long since outlived the "K" in its name!
