Who we are

Oldenburg stands together was born out of a demonstration.

In November 2025, around 1,700 people took to the streets in Oldenburg's city center in response to statements made by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, which many in our city saw as divisive and exclusionary. Parties, trade unions, civil society initiatives and committed individuals came together under a common idea: that a person's value is not measured by their economic benefit or their residence permit status.

This demonstration has not become an association or an organization with statutes and a board of directors. We are volunteers - from different parties, associations and everyday life in Oldenburg - who want to make a difference together. What unites us is the conviction that diversity is not a threat, but a strength. That democracy cannot be taken for granted. And that it is worth standing up for it.

The demonstration in November was our start. Since then, we have been planning further actions - for a city in which everyone has their place.

Oldenburg stands together. Join in.
