The Schola Cantorum Leipzig was founded in 1963 by music teacher Reinhardt Syhre and is one of the largest children's and youth choir institutions in central Germany. Around 300 children, teenagers and young adults receive comprehensive musical and choral training here - from early musical education to girls' and women's choirs. The choirs perform up to 50 concerts a year in Leipzig and beyond. The central task of the Schola Cantorum is the musical education of young people and the cultivation of choral music, while at the same time acting as an ambassador for Leipzig as a city of music.
