Celebrating Berlin's international independent scene! For a decade, this hyper-local and global festival has been bringing together the most exciting works from Berlin's international independent scene, Berliners by choice from all over the world, united by the working language English. Anniversary program from 15 to 29 February 2024 with 5 world premieres and young talent platform ExpLoRE for new talents, short works and current work approaches.

Over the past ten years, the EXPO Festival has presented more than 100 performances by international artists who have made Berlin their adopted home. As a local and international festival, it thus occupies a unique position in Berlin's cultural landscape. Berlin's independent performing arts community is characterized by its diversity of backgrounds, artistic and aesthetic practices, working methods and philosophies. One of the most important goals of the EXPO is to reflect this in the festival's performances.

Around 200 Berlin-based artists and groups have applied for a place in this year's program and the associated production budget. The interdisciplinary curatorial team of Daniel Brunet, Christin Eckart and Maque Pereyra has put together the program for this anniversary edition based on criteria of artistic quality and creative diversity. Between 15 and 29 February 2024, the anniversary program will present twelve different productions from the fields of dance, theater and performance.

The program includes world premieres by Jemima Foxtrot and Chōri Collective, Alexander Cameltoe & The Mannequins, Sami Giron Dance and Yael Esther Mor, a performance by Roman Škadra from the field of contemporary circus (German premiere) and five dance productions by André Uerba, Masha Sapizhak, Duos Duet (Niki Yaghmaee & Golsana Shenasaei), Frida Giulia Franceschini and Sami Giron Dance.
