Matze Knop

Matthias "Matze" Knop already knew at the tender age of five what he wanted to be when he grew up: "I'm going to be Rudi Carrell." No sooner said than done - he was initially drawn to radio, where he worked successfully as a presenter and reporter. His big national breakthrough finally came in the summer of 1997 with the comedy character "Supa Richie", which achieved cult status.
Since then, Matze Knop has been inspiring audiences as a stand-up comedian, parodist, presenter and entertainer. His ingenious interpretations of Franz Beckenbauer, Jogi Löw, Jürgen Klopp, Dieter Bohlen, Thomas Tuchel and many others have long since secured him a permanent place in the premier league of German comedy.
Whether as a sidekick in the "ZDF Fernsehgarten", in the expert panel of the soccer show "Doppelpass" on Sport1 or with his stand-ups in the "Quatsch Comedy Show" on ProSieben - Matze is a welcome guest on TV. From 2017 to 2022, he was also an integral part of Germany's first sports comedy show "Eine Liga für sich - Buschis Sechserkette" on Sky1. For the 2018 World Cup, he landed a real chart success with the hit "JOGIPALÖW (Der Jogi Song)", a new version of Andreas Gabalier's "Hulapalu".
Matze Knop has also caused a stir away from the stage: in 2020, he published his humorous cookbook "Kochen mit zwei linken Händen", which motivates even untalented kitchen beginners with tips from Mama-Matze. In the same year, he went on air with his daily show "Matze Knops Homeoffice" on Sky1 - and provided good humor and distraction during the turbulent times of the pandemic. Since 2023, he has been a permanent member of the presenting team on the MDR talk show "Riverboat", where he welcomes exciting guests alongside Kim Fisher.
He also devotes himself to his passion for soccer in audio format: together with Reiner Calmund and Tobias Holtkamp, he analyzes the current events surrounding the world's most popular sport every Thursday in the successful podcast "Echte Champions XXL - Die Fußball-Runde".
Of course, Matze Knop also remains true to the live stage. After successful programs such as "Diagnose Dicke Hose", "Willkommen in Matzeknopien" and most recently "Mut zur Lücke", he will start his new live tour in spring 2026: "SPITZENREITER - where we are is up front".
