In short, Sebastian Studnitzky embodies a giant of understatement with a creative drive that is as unyielding and optimistic as it is humble and warm-hearted. His music is fundamentally characterized by an unflinching willingness to balance along the edge, to explore the in-between and the twilight.

It is a curious look into the abyss, an intimate embrace of the uncertain, a blissful meditation of universal impermanence, a pragmatic surrender to the uncertainty of life itself.
Studnitzky's unboundedness is evident not only in his musical pieces, which do not care about genres and rules, but also in the wealth of musical projects in which he participates. Solo, in bands, orchestras - everything is represented. Trumpet, piano or drum machine - why not all at once?

As a lecturer and teacher, supporting others has always been an integral part of his work. This inherent responsibility and dedication to his craft is also reflected in his biggest project to date: he is a founding member, curator and managing director of Berlin's XJAZZ! Festival, which, like himself, is all about breaking existing conventions in favor of artistic freedom.

He currently plays solo, with his band KY and with his orchestral project MEMENTO ODESA
