17th TURKISH DELICATESSEN BACKGAMMON TURNET revisited!

Yes, you read that right! The 17th Turkish Delicatessen Backgammon Tournament will take place on 01.12.2024. Insiders know - it was supposed to take place on 31.03.24 - but we canceled it at short notice. So the trophies are still waiting for the winners!

Otherwise, everything as usual, almost - we start earlier! We start as early as 14:00. The latest entry time is 15:30. For more on the rules and details, see below.

But everything else as usual - the tournament will take place as part of café istanbul at AtelierZentrumEhrenfeld.

DETAILS AND INFO 17TH TURKISH DELICATESSEN BAKING GAMMON TOURNAMENT

Start: 14:00

Last registration: 15:00

End of preliminary round: 16:30

Location: AtelierZentrumEhrenfeld / artrmx e.V. I Hospeltstr.69, 50825 Cologne

We ask for a contribution towards expenses of 9,- €. Cups and additional prizes await the three winners.

Pre-registration for the tournament by email at tavla@sueperdisko.de by Fri 29.11.2024. Registration on site is also possible.

THE RULES:

We play again according to a new tournament system, (previously the preliminary round was divided into groups) which was developed by Julia & Meriç. This allows us to increase the flow of play and it is possible to enter the tournament later - although the chances of progressing are reduced.

Details preliminary round:
There are no more groups, instead all players can play against each other. You choose your teammates yourself. Multiple matches are also possible.

A game always goes to two points. One point is awarded per win. Two points are awarded if you win without your opponent throwing out a stone. We call this Mars. One point is awarded for each game win.

Please report to the tournament director in person after the game. The preliminary round ends at 16:30. The players with the most points will advance to the final round. This means that you can also join the tournament later, but your chances of collecting a lot of points will decrease.

Details final round:

The final round begins no later than 30 minutes after the end of the preliminary round. It is played in at least two rounds: Semi-final and final . Semi-finals and, if applicable, quarter-finals are played to three points, finals to five points.

General rules:

Free stacking is allowed. The most important rule is - there are no rules or limits, only basics. For all other questions about rules etc. please contact the tournament organizers.
