In the organizer's words:
Poetry Concert – Small Hall:
How does the hardening of the social climate, the division, and the erosion of certainties affect us personally? And where do we find moments of shared tenderness that offer resistance?
In a blend of song show, musical reading, and performance, we highlight original texts that explore everyday moments of destruction and tenderness from different perspectives. Featuring Böhmat, analog synthesizer, room harp, accordion, and timpani. The texts bring together marginalized and dominant voices: an account of a journey from Kinshasa, Congo, to Dresden to study stage and costume design, texts from Sorbian communities, a shared experience of appointments at the immigration office, a celebration of bilingualism, a description of Pride in Bautzen, a snapshot of a tenants’ meeting to fight against unjust utility bills, and much more.
After the show, the group of artists will engage with the audience over drinks and fortune (or misfortune) cookies to discuss their own experiences in the current political climate and sustainable perspectives for the future.
