The collection section features first-class letter collections and substantial sets.
The German Empire collecting area offers a fine selection of rarities, first-class quality items, and substantial collections. A special focus is on the German Empire and fine letters and postcards from the airmail and Zeppelin mail services.
The German Colonies and Overseas Post Offices section comprises approximately 300 lots and features numerous highlights of postal history. These include, among other items, a postcard from Chefoo (German Post in China) dated July 9, 1899, bearing a very rare “I.P.O.” security stamp on the postage (2 x 5 Pf. green Mi.No. 2 I) to protect the stamps from theft while they were being transported within China to the German post office in Shanghai (Lot 2012).
In the collection section, the inventory of a renowned Hessian retail store and auction house is being liquidated . The offering includes several hundred individual lots as well as substantial stamp collections from Germany and throughout Europe.
Also worthy of note is a fantastic, 11-volume exhibition collection titled “Liechtenstein Postage Stamps on Mail Pieces from the Precursors Onward.”
